Petrified Museum- Restitution de l’atelier théâtre

Petrified Museum: Everything beside remains est un dispositif fictionnel, qui imagine la découverte dans plusieurs millions d’années d’un musée d’histoire naturelle pétrifié. Porté par les artistes Duncan Evennou et Anne-Sophie Milon (The Lighthouse Company), il a pris la forme au Théâtre de la Cité internationale d’un atelier de pratique artistique avec des résident·es de la Cité internationale universitaire de Paris entre janvier et avril 2026.

La scénographie prend la forme d’une grande installation textile composée de toiles aux images monumentales, autant de surfaces à observer, interroger et interpréter. Les participant.es ont été invité.es à raconter ce qu’ils et elles y perçoivent, en mobilisant leurs propres références, imaginaires et expériences. Peu à peu, ces lectures individuelles et collectives construisent un ensemble de récits qui composent un musée imaginaire, en transformation constante. Cette performance interroge la manière dont notre présent pourrait être perçu depuis le futur : quels récits resteront, quelles formes survivront, et comment seront-elles interprétées hors de leur contexte ?

Petrified Museum: Everything Beside Remains is a fictional construct that imagines the discovery, several million years from now, of a petrified natural history museum. Led by artists Duncan Evennou and Anne-Sophie Milon (The Lighthouse Company), it took shape at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale as an artistic workshop involving residents of the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris between January and April 2026.

The scenography takes the form of a large-scale textile installation made up of canvases bearing monumental images, each one a surface to observe, question, and interpret. Participants were invited to describe what they saw, drawing on their own references, imaginaries, and experiences. Gradually, these individual and collective readings come together to form a body of narratives that make up an ever-evolving imaginary museum. The performance explores how our present might be perceived from the future: which stories will endure, which forms will survive, and how they might be interpreted once removed from their original context?
